SABC Interim Board should fire Hlaudi now

The decision to immediately advertise the positions of Group Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer is a sign the Board intends to act swiftly in establishing a leadership structure to address the myriad of issues and challenges facing the SABC.

In December 2016, OUTA laid criminal charges against Hlaudi Motsoeneng and currently awaits feedback from the SAPS on the progress of the case.

“We would like to see the interim board urgently proceed with finalising disciplinary proceedings against Mr Motsoeneng,” says Dominique Msibi, OUTA’s Portfolio Manager. “By doing so, Mr Motsoeneng’s current suspension could be terminated and the financially stressed SABC can cease to waste money on his exorbitant salary.”
